The old way bullet drop worked was that every shot you fired would always be angled slightly downwards so it eventually hit the ground. The new aiming isn't that buggy, you just have to understand that you really can NOT shoot very far beyond the max range of your gun anymore. It's not a revolutionary change from earlier 1.13 versions but it's a nice all-around improvement with lots of nice tweaks, and I'm not seeing the glitches that cropped up sometimes in older versions of 1.13. I'd avoid turning on the new aiming system, which still seems buggy as gently caress, but all the other new features seem to work perfectly. It actually seems a lot more stable than the "official" release of 1.13 and has a lot of nice little improvements to the game in it. I've started a new game with the latest single click installer beta (4057 I think).

Apparently the Unfinished Business patch has DRM so I can't buy that separately and install it (because it's unpatched).
Either way, I bought JA 2 and I'm downloading it so we'll see what version it's been updated to. Hmm, I think Gold includes JA 2 + Unfinished Business, which GoG sell separately.

The non-gold version of JA2 isn't patched to 1.12 so you'd need that patch first, before you want to install 1.13, but I doubt the version GoG sells isn't the Gold version anyway.ĮDIT: \/\/\/ After some thorough fact-checking, it turns out I'm full of poo poo and you're right Gold includes UB aswell apparently. Gold is just the 1.12 version of vanilla JA2, it doesn't include any expansions. 1.13 works with Gold, but if you don't want to play the base game getting Gold is pointless and JA2 is cheaper and DRM-free on GOG.
GOG sells vanilla and the expansions separately, and you only need vanilla for 1.13. And make sure to turn off the Drassen counter-attack in that file aswell. It's worth going through the \Data 1.13\JA2 Options.ini file (just edit it with notepad) and reading through all the descriptions on the various options in there to tweak the game according to your preferences.
